„Garrulous mice gathered“ Naoko Fujimoto, Schriftstellerin _ Give Peace A Chance _ Japan 27.11.2023

GIVE PEACE A CHANCE

Garrulous mice gathered

in an attic. Their song

vegetated along the walls, windows, and an old piano—

echoing a harpsichord sonata.

Purportedly, when an effulgent

edelweiss dropped its last dew and

avalanched it on a frosty street, mice

chanted this hymn

exactly at seven thirty in the morning.

An inorganic poison sprayed on their

chamber orchestra softly but

highly muffled their notes.

Are they suffocating underneath,

noisy pests?                Once,

close neighbors were treated like that in the

endless dark pit of our history.

Tint Journal is the leading online literary journal for those who write prose and poetry in English as their second or non-native language.

By choosing English as their creative tool, these writers provide an extensive audience with a window into their values, ideas, and beliefs. Coming from a wide variety of backgrounds, they bridge borders and blend cultures, offering the purest and deepest understanding of their fiction and nonfiction worlds.

Over the years, Tint has become a multifaceted platform for emerging
and established ESL writers, and it encourages them to embrace their
non-native English backgrounds. Their unique linguistic landscapes shape
their creative voices and influence their readers’ experiences. This quality
has been ignored— even shamed— for too long.

Through the innovative, tinted lenses of ESL writers, Tint shines a light on the ways that authors all over the globe can contribute to what we know as literature in English
